Washington's Landing Engagement Session | Beautiful Nature Engagement Photos

Lillian & Justin’s Washington’s Landing engagement session was such a fun afternoon. These two were so easy to photograph - their love and connection is so genuine! Their nature engagement photos showcase how wonderful they are and how beautiful they are together.

These two found us through Instagram and even though we only communicated online before the session, it was so fun and easy as soon as we got together. They gave us a jar of canned cranberries they had made which was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. It was a perfect mark of who they are! They also suggested that we put them on a pizza, which we did, and it was so amazingly delicious!

Washington’s Landing engagement sessions are great because there is so much variety at this Pittsburgh photo location. There are trails, trees of so many varieties, the river, big rocks, and a field of tall grass. The light is always amazing, and you can walk along and find so many beautiful places to photograph!

These two were so smooth and natural with us and in front of the camera. They had mentioned they’d need a lot of direction, but they really didn’t. It was really clear they bring out the best in each other and are just genuinely so excited to be sharing their lives together. It was really beautiful to capture their love!

We aren’t usually that into posing, but there are a couple of prompts we give that always turn out great. Since we’re a photographer duo, it’s great that we get to act out these prompts instead of relying on having to describe them in words, which can be hard sometimes! Our favorite might be what we call “airplane arms.” We have them stand one in front of the other, arms out, with their heads side by side so no one is being blocked. Then we have them move their arms together like an airplane or a swim stroke, while walking forward and looking at each other. This always always always gets amazing results! This prompt gets genuine, beautiful laughter, amazing smiles, and faces close together. We love anything that helps highlight a couple’s unique connection!
