Top 5 Magical Outdoor Wedding Venues in Pittsburgh
If you have been looking for outdoor wedding venues in Pittsburgh, have we got a treat for you! As Pittsburgh wedding photographers, we’ve been to our fair share of wedding venues. It’s hard to narrow it down, but these are our top 5 outdoor wedding venues in Pittsburgh.
1. Succop Nature Park
We love how literally every corner of Succop Nature Park is beautiful and the perfect backdrop for photos. There’s a mansion under all the old tall trees that is so beautiful inside and out. It’s the perfect place for getting ready! This venue feels like a little slice of a European garden that truly just makes you feel transported away from the city-vibe of Pittsburgh. There’s a beautiful willow by the pond, a mini greenhouse, and open grounds. Everything about this place is so perfect and gets beautiful natural light, even on a cloudy day (which, let’s be honest, happens a lot in Pittsburgh!).
Another great perk of this venue is everything is contained in one central location. Without having to make time for travel between events, there’s more time for photos and partying! There’s so many options to choose from with this outdoor wedding venue - you can have the ceremony in front of the mansion or in the open field in front of the pond. Succop Nature Park is something unique and different and will definitely appeal to couples looking to do their own thing, their own way. And those are our kind of people!
2. Irons Mill Farmstead
This outdoor wedding venue is SO beautiful and picturesque! It is rustic, yet also has really nice modern touches. The incredible beautiful reception space with its large arched ceiling complete with an amazing glittering chandelier instantly elevates the space and your pictures! There is no shortage of places to go for romantic couples portraits, especially if you are up for a little bit of walking. Irons Mill Farmstead is truly just such a dreamy venue!
3. Willowbrook
Oh man! Willowbrook has literally thought of EVERYTHING to make your day amazing and they just keep on adding and improving things. It was still newly transferred to the name and ownership Willowbrook when we had this amazing day with Gina and Jeff (it was formerly Rustic Acres) and was perfect then, but they have only continued to add more amenities and thoughtful touches in the last year or so.
In addition to the several options for ceremony sites (under the willow, at the pond, the patio, or even inside the barn structure), we love the bright white interior of the reception space with the exposed wooden beams. This really photographs SO well with having the beautiful, modern clean white walls and accents of wood bringing that rustic warmth without overwhelming the scene.
They have great getting ready spaces, including the option of overnight rental accommodations. Their in-house catering is incredibly thoughtful and absurdly delicious (some of the best food we've ever eaten at a wedding!). All the staff we encountered were so helpful, kind, warm and just genuinely feel like people who are wanting to give their best all the time. If you want the peace of mind knowing things will be done well and taken care of for you in an incredibly beautiful place, Willowbrook is definitely perfect for you!
4. Pittsburgh Botanic Garden
The Pittsburgh Botanic garden is amazing! This outdoor wedding venue is a choose-your-own-adventure situation. You can really create the exact vibe you want depending on your tent rental and table and chair choices. The space for the tented reception is SO cool. It’s all right there together with the ceremony space which is super convenient for both you and your guests. The meadow is also perfect for sunset photos!
5. The Woods at Eisler Farms
WOW! We love the Woods at Eisler Farms! It truly feels like you are somewhere else. The tall tree coverage along the paths from the reception space to the ceremony spot on the dock feels like you are walking through an enchanted forest (Lothlorien perhaps!). You can stand just about anywhere on those paths and have a beautiful picturesque photo op! The staff at this outdoor wedding venue are so helpful and kind, as well. They took us and our couple on a golf cart ride out to the orchard for their photos. Not only that, but when the downpour hit, they were so attentive to doing everything they could to make it work for the event.
While everything is very contained, the paths around the woods are paved and convenient for accessibility and soaking up that magical feeling this beautiful venue provides!
As you can tell, there are many outdoor wedding venues in Pittsburgh that can be the perfectly magical place for your big day!
