Relaxed Engagement Photos in an Art Studio | Stephanie & Jaison
Stephanie and Jaison are a couple who love to create and work together, just like us! This made their relaxed engagement photos so much more special to capture. From their casual outfits to hanging out at their art studio, their true selves and love really shine in these photos.
Our hope for this relaxed engagement photos session was to create photographs of them in their space that felt true to their love story and to who they are as artists together. Seeing the way that their work and their love for each other are so intertwined and flow so beautifully was incredible. It’s so much like how we work together - our work is enhanced by the strength of our love for each other, and this is clearly true for Stephanie and Jaison, too!
We loved seeing their paintings and portraits all throughout the studio, some completed works and some in progress. It really felt like magic to be in their studio and surrounded by their work. The trust and freedom between the two of them was so apparent, amplified by the perfectly chill vibe that was cultivated with burning incense and sharing wine in their bare feet and slippers. We are so grateful they really trusted us and not only allowed us into their physical space but truly welcomed us to step into their world.
As usual, we didn't do much posing during these relaxed engagement photos. However, collaboratively with the couple, we found many great moments and poses and setups. One of our favorites from this session was when all four of us noticed the magical light coming in through the window with the curtains half open in that space, so we asked them to get close and be in that spot of divine light. It was the perfect space for them to be themselves, close and in love, and we were able to photograph their natural beauty!
